The 18th annual Cycle for Life bicycle tour took place on a gorgeous Sunday – June 22, 2014. Hundreds of riders rolled through the country roads of Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and raised several hundred thousand dollars to benefit cancer patients at Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children. A few days ago, we had the distinct pleasure of riding with the team from Our Ability, accompanying Messrs John Robinson and Doug Hamlin as they powered their bikes along the route of the Erie Canal — more than 350 miles from near Buffalo to Albany. What makes this so special (and hugely inspiring) is that John has no lower arms or legs, and Doug has lost the use of his legs. What an amazing tribute to the power of the bicycle and the human spirit.
